  Hobbyland Fliers Model Aircraft Club

                                                   Since 1990

Who are we?

Hobbyland Fliers Club is a group interested in building and flying radio controlled (RC) airplanes. Our club is nonprofit, and a charter member of the national Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Our club is open to members of all ages from North Central Wisconsin. We are located near Medford. Club yearly dues are $20.00.

Our club maintains a private flying field 3 miles East of Dorchester on County Road A, then ½ mile South on Rosedale Ave. 5552 Rosedale. We have an observation area for spectators to come and watch the flying activities. The public is welcome to watch but flying is restricted to club members except for the “Fun Fly“ usually scheduled in July, and then restricted to members of the AMA.

What will it cost?

This sport is not as expensive as one may think. Initial investment for a trainer plane, radio and supplies will run $250 to $350. With advice from experienced club members much of the original expense will cover materials that can be used for later bigger better and more complicated aircraft. After learning the basics, and we’ll teach you, you can take any path you like-scale models, aerobatics, gliders, helicopters and even jets!

Come-on dad you start then get your children into a hobby that will last a life time. You can get started for only a few dollars.

No one can fly a model on any day. The weather must be very good for flying. No rain or strong winds.  Come to the field during summer months Tuesday evenings or Saturday afternoons see what it’s like and get into the most fun you can ever have.
